Hale Yes!

Redemption finally came for Kevin Hale, whose stirring choke jobs in 1997 and 2003 left him wondering if the Bookie Pool monkey would ever leave his back. This time Kevin took a different approach, one that has been a common theme through the years for eventual pool winners - stink it up most of the year then hit your picks when they count most! With just four weeks left in the pool (week 17), Kevin Hale stood at $630 and was a distant after-thought to pool leader Pat Mundy and his seemingly insurmountable $8277.Then the storm came. Four weeks later Kevin finished with a balance of $12740 and his first Bookie Pool Title since joining 15 years ago! Riding Kevin's coattails was brother-in-law Brad Augustine, who took 2nd overrall for his best finish in his 15 years. Dale Christianson jumped from 9th to 3rd with his Arizona straight-up bet, while Pat Mundy had to settle for 4th after being the latest in a long line of bookie poolers to squander a huge late season lead. Here are the Final Standings and Career Statistics.

Mark Roget had yet another close-but-no-cigar year. In his first three years he has finished 6th, 6th, and 5th respectively. He would have finished 4th but Pat Mundy made a mistake on his pick and meant to bet enough to cover Dino's bet, but we understand since Pat finished high school with a third grade education. Larry Allen gets the first bonehead pick ever for hitting his pick!

Bonehead Pick of the Week: Larry Allen, Arz $100

Note from Commissioner: Here's the credit list showing how much you have coming, and how much you will owe next year (note that some of you had either a slight balance due or slight credit going into the Super Bowl, so if you have any questions about your balance please first see the pre-Super Bowl credit list). As in past years, if you have under $63 in winnings, unless I hear from you I'm going to assume you want it credited toward next year. If you have over $63, I'm going to subtract the $63 fee for next year and send you the balance. If you have a balance owed you, please either send me your address so I can mail you a check, or let me know if I can send it to your email address via PayPal. The commissioner's preferred method for both receiving and sending payments is PayPal. As in past years, I will wait about a week before sending payments, in case any errors are found in the Final Standings.

Thanks for another great season everyone, and let's plan on doing this again next year!
